Absolute disaster from start to finish. So many problems right the way through, beginning with him not turning up on collection day and then damaging the wall taking the sofa downstairs, to sending him messages and texts that were not replied to and delays of weeks with the sofa hanging about uncovered in his van. When we discussed delivery there was a further delay because he couldn’t find someone to help him into my apartment with the sofa. I had told him all along it was a two person job. His solution was that he would stand in the street and pay someone “a couple of beers” to help him get it to my door. Thankfully my husband was able to make himself available to help, otherwise I would probably still be waiting!

As a result of this lengthy delay, he then he delivered a terribly damaged sofa, all because he had not taken care of it by wrapping it properly in his van (which I had asked him several times to do) with huge black water stains and other markings of different types on all sides of the sofa, plus an enormous dent in the back, on a sofa which was almost brand new and cost £1650. When it arrived it looked like something from a student house, having been damaged badly in FIVE places.

He knocked some money off the delivery charge, but the cost of professional cleaning was double, at 150 euro. When I contacted him to discuss the shortfall, of course he did not reply. Fortunately some of the stains were removed but the largest one did not come out which means that I have to put my almost brand new sofa in a corner.

I accepted his job because of the positive comments on anyvan. I simply cannot believe that I am the only one to have had such a negative experience and can only urge other customers to be VERY wary of this shoddy outfit. I spoke and wrote (with photos) to anyvan to lodge a complaint, as I am concerned that others will also have the same treatment, and of course I have no comeback because his is basically a one man band and has no insurance.

Please beware, Martin can neither stick to arrangements, nor do the job properly. He has proved incapable of following instructions and unable to organise himself. I would not trust him to move a paper bag.

Please note that there was a stain approx 4 inchs x 4 inchs on this ladies sofa , it was not smashed to pieces or ripped or stolen..... it had a stain. Quite why she needs to write Tolstoy's War and Peace as a review is beyond me ? If you have a day ( or two ) please read the whole review and make up your own mind of the type of person we sometimes have to deal with . But in reply to her main beefs ( she has written so many most of which are not really relevant ) The trip was delayed by 2 weeks as I had a very bad case of Flu, simple as that really and then re-arranged for her to receive at a time when her husband was present to help me move the extremely heavy sofa . In spite of being wrapped in cardboard then bubble wrap and just to top off 2 separate plastic covers the sofa had a water stain , It was rather a nasty shock for me I can say , rather than get into any arguments with her I gave her a discount of 113 euros to cover the dry cleaning of the corner with the mark on it . Quite why anybody would want to spend 202 euros on dry cleaning is beyond me really but for that sort of money I would expect a world class job !!! Although no doubt the Dry Cleaners have also had a bad review as well !! Although not a healthcare professional it is clear that this Lady has some serious issues .
