This booking was made to remove furniture from a flat and take to DUMP. First thing was he said he can't accept £18.70 but it needs to be an extra £30 (on top of what I've already paid to ANYVAN as deposit).. but reluctantly I agreed. A time was set to liaise at a flat to collect the furniture. On the day of the collection I was contacted by phone to be told there is to be an extra £180 to cover Mersey Tunnel fees.. I tel him he won't have to go via the tunnel because the address he's going to is on the same side of the river..DUH.. then he tells me there is a form for dumping on its way in the post and should be with me that morning (we had agreed to meet at 9.30 am at the flat I was having emptied.) the man had sent the form to the flat and NOT where I live. Perhaps he should have CHECKED where i lived and not assumed i lived at the flat that was being emptied. The form arrived at LUNCHTIME on the day of the collection.. remember.. it was to be to 9:30am. By that time the guy the was then not contactable bcause of family commitments. The time is now getting on for 4:30 and he rings me.. he says then he will meet me at 12:30 on the following day. This is now TWENTY SEVEN HOURS AFTER THE AGREED TIME!!! Just as I'm leaving to meet him, he says "the vans not back from a job in the morning" and can I give it another hour. Somewhat annoyed (I have a life to live and places to be you know)I agree to it. An hour later, Im outside the flat.. no sign of ANYONE.
To call this operation amateurish is an insult to amateurs. AVOID THIS LOT LIKE THE PLAGUE. As a result I will NOT be using the ANYVAN site again... and advise others to simply go and rent a van yourself from a high street firm.. that way you are reasonably sure of getting the job done.
