*UPDATED REVIEW* Not the best experience I have had with an Anyvan provider but it was made right in the end. I am a frequent user of this site and I have never had a problem until this one. Alan quoted my delivery from the South Coast to Spain 3-4 day after pickup which was consistent with previous deliveries. The driver that picked up (I later found out was a friend that was helping him out due to medical issues in the family) was EXTRMELY rude and would not listen to specific instructions on how to load the packages (original paintings) to keep them safe. After a week and no delivery I contacted Alan to find out when they would be delivered.....a few phone calls later we came to the conclusion that the driver had attempted to deliver but had difficulty finding the place. This was false as I had been home all week receiving deliveries (some from the UK) and Alan had been provided with two phone numbers for that very reason. He informed me his driver would redeliver the next day and I offered to send a map and the phone numbers again. That evening he informed me that the "Spanish depot" had all the information and he would be in touch when he had an ETA. The next day I emailed and called him concerned that I had no further information and would he contact me regarding the “Spanish depot”........it came to light that he handed the job of to a "large transport company in Spain". I tried to contact him for further information such as the name of the company and a tracking number. The message I received was - "I can't talk now" via text. Anyvan and I attempted for three days to get this information from him to no avail. It turned out that the medical issues had worsened and Alan had gone AWOL for that reason……..I don´t agree with this as he still had outstanding deliveries and it would have been very easy to provide me with the simple info that I requested. He finally contacted me (10 days after pick up at this point) with the information and I contacted the Spanish depot immediately…….they could not find it!!!!! As you can imagine, I was pulling my hair out by now. Fortunately, and this is the reason for the updated review, Alan became an active member of the search and between us all we finally tracked it down. Alan explained his situation and made apologies and suggested that I pay what I thought was fair due to all of the issues. I also learned that the packages were actually handed off right away to DPD and THEY were the ones that said they attempted delivery and made no effort with the phone numbers provided to rearrange delivery. This is the reason I was going for the smaller transport provider……..better customer service! Anyway, the long and the short of it is……mistakes were made, actions were taken that I did not expect or want; but, fortunately, it all came out well in the end.
