I undertake house/furniture removals. I do not do rapid pick up/drop off courier work. Although only recently signing up to the Anyvan site, I have been handling customers goods for over 25 years.

The vehicle I use for the safe transfer of your goods is a 3.5 ton Ford Transit Luton with tail lift. The payload is 1.1 tons, and the loading area is 13ft 6inches long, 6ft wide and 7ft high.

When loading, I deploy removal blankets to protect furniture from chaffing whilst on the move and strap large items to the side walls. The loading floor is fitted with industrial carpet. I carry a sack truck, a piano dolly and the vehicle has a tail lift.

Things you need to know before accepting my Anyvan bid.

I work on my own, or can supply an additional porter if required. When bidding, I will state whether the bid is for a one or two man team. If the customer accepts a one man bid, I will assume that the customer is willing to assist loading/unloading large items. If the customer accepts a two man team bid, and later decides they require only one man, the price will be reduced accordingly.

If the customer states that the job is flexible, i.e. does not state a specific date for the removal, I will assume that the removal can be done anytime and will bid for the job on that basis.

When flexible customers accept my bid, we will work together to finalise a specific load/unload date.

If the work is long distance and involves loading in Cornwall, I do not require a deposit. If the work is within, or close to Cornwall, likewise, I do not require a deposit. If the work involves driving long distance before loading, a deposit will be required.

In all circumstances, private customers are expected to pay for the job in cash immediately after the job is completed. Public authorities and limited companies can pay by BACS upon presentation of the invoice.

Lastly, there is a £5000 limit on claims for damage to goods in transit.
