Although the weather has been heating up for the past couple of weeks, Friday is officially the first day of summer. On average, here at AnyVan, we see a 36% increase in the number of house moves completed between June and September, compared to the same period of time during January and April.
Evidently, summer is the most popular period of time for moving and rightly so. If you’re planning on joining the trend and relocating this summer, here’s a couple of summer moving tips:
As we’ve shown, the summer months are the most popular months of the year, so you may find removals companies start getting booked up. If you’re planning on moving in July or August, or even the end of this month, it’s not too late to book your company on AnyVan now.
It’s best to avoid leaving organising your removals to the last minute. If anything you should try and book as soon as you know you’re moving, this way it’ll be one less load off your chest.
Water will be your best friend. Buy a couple of bottles and keep these with you, alongside your essentials box. Even if you’re not helping your man and van or removals company with the lifting and carrying – simple things such as food and drink can often be overlooked in the midst of a large house move.
It may be hot, and somewhat self-explanatory, but sensible footwear is a must. Avoid the urge to wear flip-flops or sandals, as this can lead to disaster if you’re mucking in and helping to carry boxes etc.
As we all know, summer is barbecue season – so why not throw one for your housewarming party? A barbecue is the perfect way to introduce family and friends to your new home, and gatherings such as these are a great way to help you settle into your new home.
