Happy New Year from the Courier Services Team

December 30, 2011

The courier services team at AnyVan would like to wish everyone a happy new year for 2012.

It’s been a good year for the AnyVan website says the courier services team and more people than ever are using a ground breaking concept which saves people money, keeps courier companies busy and helps save valuable emissions.

Okay, so this is the time for new year resolutions and what would the team wish for in 2012?

Overall, like everyone in business, we’d like to see an end to the economic crisis. It’s been too long since the economic climate was supporting business and we can only hope that the politicians in Europe get the situation sorted and the world economy shows some meaningful recovery.

We’d also like to see delivery companies  get a break when it comes to the cost of fuel and insurance. The sector has had to bear the brunt of rising costs across the board and trying to maintain margins is a nightmare for many owners and operators.

The Government has to think about leveling out any future rises in fuel, ensuring that companies are able to plan ahead and cope with the recovery when it comes. What worries many is that when things do start to get better, there will more demand for oil, fuel costs will rise dramatically again and the recovery will be snuffed out.

And whilst we are having a moan, let’s get some work done on the UK road network. The politicians might bang on about major infrastructure projects, but they need to pay attention to the minor roads and start a significant repair programme. Potholes are costing road users’ millions in new tyres and vehicle repairs.

But those grips aside, have a great and safe New Year celebration and fingers crossed, let’s look forward to a promising 12 months ahead.
