So you’ve just moved in – the removal company have unloaded the van, you’ve unpacked and you’re starting to get cosy and settled in. Family and friends are eager to see your new abode, but you’re not too keen on a big party, you’re more of a fan of the quiet and intimate.
So what are your options?
Cheese and wine evening? After the third bottle of wine those tend to get out of hand – maybe not wise.
Barbecue? Perfect for summer – but what if it rains? It always bloody rains!
Housewarming dinner? – Quiet, intimate and homely. Plus you can kick the mother-in-law out after dessert… Perfect!
But what should you make? Here are a couple of our suggestions for meat/chicken, fish and vegetarian dishes.
Meat
A Roast
Who doesn’t love a roast? They’re great for sit down get-togethers, and can also be great value for money. A roast always has quite a homely feel to it, making it perfect for a housewarming dinner. This meal also gives you some leeway with your choice of meats, with chicken, beef, lamb and pork all being equally delicious options.
Fish
Baked Seabass
If you’re more of a fish person, why not try making baked seabass, accompanied by potatoes with a lemon and caper dressing. The recipe is simple, straightforward and gluten-free.
Veggie
Mediterranean Stuffed Peppers
An easy meal that can be whipped up in no time and enjoyed by both veggies and non-veggies alike. The satisfying meal requires only a handful of ingredients and less than 40 minutes prep and cooking time. Feel free to make it your own by adding and replacing ingredients to suit your taste buds.
Vegan
